Knowledge in what all fields areis necessary to develop an EEG brain-computer interface?

I am a computer science student, and as part of my project, I would like to develop a system that changes the tvTV channel  , increases it'sits volume, etc. by just the thought of it. My primary investigation paved the way to EEG BCI.

So which allWhich fields should I research in order to develop such a system, and what all equipmentsequipment in general areis necessary. [? As far as I know we need an eegEEG device attached to head, a transimittertransmitter to sentsend the signal to tvthe TV, a receiver at tvthe TV side, and proper processing of signals and feeding to tv]. I need more explanation of the EEG sideTV. I mostly need more explanation of the EEG side.
