Stack Exchange network consists of 183 Q&A communities including Stack Overflow, the largest, most trusted online community for developers to learn, share their knowledge, and build their careers.

The behaviours seem very analogous. Similar to how a hoarder may buy or collect, an obessesed note taker may absorb and search information they don't directly require. Also analogous to hoarding, it becomes difficult to find information needed as the quantity of information is increased.
