Sometimes we do a task while listening to a song, conversation or something else. The moment we engage in the task, our concentration moves to the task, though our ear is open or on, and technically we are listening to what is going on (song, conversation or something else), for example, while I was listening to a lecture on you-tube, I got engaged to a notification for a short time, and after sometimes – once I was done with the Facebook-notification – I start listening to the lecture. Now, while I was reading my Facebook message, I didn’t hear anything and can’t remember what instructor said during that period, , but technically my ear was open, I mean it was working.

Is there a chance that, though I was not consciously listening the lecture, my brain did while I was engaged in something else, and the brain remember what the instructor said and that is memorized in brain?
