If not, are there other similar non-semantic phenomena? I am particularly curious about emotional cognition, although echoic or occipital activity would also be quite interesting.

My conclusion after doing some citation browsing is that semantic satiation is related to learning. Although I can neither confirm nor deny it, I suspect that it is a core feature in the learning process.
