So generally speaking, when someone learns a foreign language and they begin to communicate in that foreign language, they tend to translate the foreign words into the corresponding word in their native language. After a while, they begin to no longer associate these words with the corresponding word but with the thought or feeling of the noun (thing).

Is there some technical term for this?
